
“Little House on the Prairie” Cast Reunion - June 6-8, 2025
Prairie Legacy Productions and the Columbia Chamber of Commerce will present a “Little House on the Prairie” Cast Reunion at Columbia State Historic Park in California's Gold Country on June 6–8, 2025. This exclusive three-day event offers fans a rare and exciting opportunity to celebrate the beloved television series, connect with their favorite “Little House” stars, and visit filming locations in Columbia where memorable scenes were shot for episodes such as “Someone Please Love Me,” “Sweet Sixteen,” and “The In-Laws.”
Attendees can meet cast members, take photos, collect autographs, and participate in exclusive fan experiences. The event will also feature a special screening of “Little House Homecoming,” a brand-new fan documentary showcasing the lasting legacy of the show (separate ticket required).

In addition to the reunion festivities, attendees can take a self-guided tour through California's scenic Gold Country to visit iconic “Little House” filming locations. These include Railtown 1897, where all of the show's train scenes were filmed, as well as Donnell Vista, Iceberg Meadow, and Kennedy Meadows, which were featured in episodes such as “The Lord Is My Shepherd,” “The Campout,” and more.

World Class Twain Harte Outhouse Races – June 7
The World Class Twain Harte Outhouse Races will again be presented by the Twain Harte Area Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Twain Harte Area Chamber of Commerce on June 7, 2025. The event begins at 9 a.m. with the opening ceremonies, followed by fast paced, shotgun-start, tournament-style races in Eproson Park – renamed “Flushing Downs” for the day.
Twenty entries are expected, each measuring a minimum of nine cubic square feet, six feet in height (from the ground), a minimum of 200 pounds (without the driver), with an operational door, a toilet seat and a roll of toilet paper. There are two pushers and one driver per team.
The top three finishers receive outhouse-shaped wooden trophies carved by a local artisan. The first-place firefighter team is added to the Firefighters Challenge perpetual trophy. The winner also qualifies for the World Championship Outhouse Races in Virginia City, NV.

El Campo de Sonora - June 7
Presented by the Sonora Chamber of Commerce, this one-day fiesta celebrates the richness of the region's cultural diversity, including Mexican, Native American, Irish, Chinese, Jewish, Mexican, and Hawaiian/Filipino heritage.
Storytelling (with tales told by Mark Twain himself), folkloric dancing, live music, crafts, exhibits and a mercado transform Courthouse Park in downtown Sonora.

Firefall Ranch adds trail rides
Firefall Ranch is partnering with Smith Station Stables to offer a wide range of exclusive horseback riding adventures through some of the area's most highly sought-after trails. Saddle up at the historic Birch Ranch (once a cattle ranch and stage stop), adjacent to Firefall Ranch, to explore the surrounding wilderness in much the same way as the Sierra Nevada's first explorers. Railtown 1897 Launches Season of Weekend Excursion Train Rides
In partnership with the California State Railroad Museum Foundation, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown has launched their season of weekend excursion train rides.
Weekend train ride guests enjoy a memorable six-mile, 45-minute round trip ride on the Sierra Railway through the picturesque Mother Lode countryside. Excursion trains will generally be pulled by No. 1265 diesel locomotive; motive power is subject to change without notice. In addition to the train ride experiences, park visitors are encouraged to observe train crew operating the turntable at the start and end of each day.
Excursion trains, programs, and activities continue throughout the year and visitors are encouraged to take a train ride or plan a day at the park to enjoy a tour of the historic roundhouse and shops, picnic, and a leisurely stroll around the grounds. The park is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in April through October (summer season) for self-guided or docent-led tours along with exhibits that include interpretive signage.
